  JW in Iran

  last year we were visiting armenia and iran (my family and another jw family).

  talking to jw in armenia, we were told there are jw in iran and we got contact to one family in teheran.

  to our surprise we really were able to get in touch with them when we arrived in teheran.

  I remember - when applying for Iranian visas, we received a booklet at the embassy ... it said how great the system in Iran is, explaining the capitalism is dead and the only way for the western countries is islamic revolution .... and it also had a chapter FREEDOM OF RELIGION IN IRAN... it explained, that there is a freedom of worship in Iran, because anybody can abandon his religion and embrace Islam ....

  Looking at it this way - WTBS also supports freedom to change ones religion - anybody can leave former religion and join WTBS!

  rather than getting too down about wasting the best years of my life in a cult .

  i have a really great imagination.

  you have to have one to get through five hours of meetings per week at a young age.

  I lost fear of rejection

  ... all of this I use very well in my job - I work in sals .... Thank you WTBS!!!

  Last year we were visiting Armenia and Iran (my family and another JW family). Talking to JW in Armenia, we were told there are JW in Iran and we got contact to one family in Teheran. To our surprise we really were able to get in touch with them when we arrived in Teheran. They were lovely and extremely friandly (as all persians in Iran). However there is just a very small number of them, just in Teheran and another iranian city (dont want be more specific...) and they all are descendants of armenian christians (there is a large armenian population in Iran). They are technicaly under ban, but the goverment doesnt give them any hard time as long as they only preach to non-muslim population. It is unthinkable to speak about the Bible to muslims (100% death penalty, execution by stone pelting still being practiced...) and it is unthinkable for a muslim to change religion...

  I feel sorry for those JWs we could meet, because for them being JW means a clear identity in a very hostile enviroment, and they have very limited chance to leran the real truth...

  jw doctrine teaches that the 1,000 years of christ corresponds to "judgment day," and everyone who has not already been judged will be resurrected from the dead.

  the exceptions would be those who died during the flood, the destruction of sodom and gomorrah, and a few odd individuals.

  but that's only the people living today.

  simplify your life...that was maybe a good jw idea.......but how??

  once your kids move out.....and you hit midlife crap..........just how much do you or should you do this?.....here in usa......times are pretty awful moneywise/workwise.......i just feel the need to downsize bigtime..........anybody gone supersimple and are now superhappier??........thanks......oompa.

  I love to live a simple life ... but for me simplifying life starts with relations ...

  I cut off completely all people, who are complicated or want to make my life and my feelings complicated .... As a result of this, there are only 2-3 JWs who are allowed into my house, I do not answer most calls and mail from JWs, we changed KH with my wife and in the new come just to accompany my wife twice a month... I do not start any new friendsips in the new KH...

  Life is so simple now ... no more guilt feelings ... no more emotional blackmail.... great ...

  i have to say i feel both nervous and excited at the same time.

  but everything i have looked into so far has helped me come to many realizations about the organization so i'm overall very glad to have joined.

  i haven't read any jw stuff for some time now, but this morning i found an electronic copy of the current "our kingdom ministry" in my e-mail.

  i had a quick flick through and realised how rude the "doorstep suggestions" are.

  Be realistic in 2009! Why Politics will NEVER turn on Religion in our society!

  communism is dead and the usa is a strongly christian, tolarant, democratic nation, it just won't happen here.

  muslim nations are fanatical about their dedication....no chance.

  it's silly to think of religions as a whole being banned....this is just a witness bad dream, never happen in a million years..

  Sometimes fulfillment is never how we expect it to happen, and turning on religion could be done slowly and subtly.

  Jews to this day are still waiting for an actual messiah to overthrow rome :)
